AMU K9: Advanced Life Support for ALS and Flight Providers is an intense two-day course that brings your clinical experience into the world of working K9 medicine. Through classroom instruction and hands-on training, participants explore advanced K9 assessment, veterinary pharmacology, airway management, ventilation, shock, trauma, IV/IO access, fluid therapy, blood products, and point-of-care ultrasound. Built for ALS providers and flight teams, this course develops the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognize critical illness and injury, provide care within authorized protocols and medical direction, and support a working dog’s transition to definitive veterinary care.

Prerequisites: Participants must be a Paramedic/MICN, an Air Crew Member, or have successfully completed AMU K9: Basic Life Support for Fire and EMS.
